In their own right, both the Sublist feature and the ListSum function are extraordinarily robust. Sublists allow the form to call out only specific members of a class of items, a class that is defined by the Author and then selected by the form itself or its user. Members of sublists can be grouped by just about any data to which the form has access: they can separate vegetables from fruit, diamonds from jade, plaintiffs, from defendants, clients from opposition, toys from household items.

Oftentimes, once a sublist (or list) is created, there's a need to total associated numbers, say debt service that is the responsibility of the plaintiff from the respondent, or the rental amounts received on one group of apartments. This is where the functionality of ListSum and its related math functions are amazingly handy.
