When is a GRID the best choice for gathering information? It comes down to two criteria:
- Does the information change with each use of the document? If the same information is used over and over and over again, such as signers within an office, or lists of offices, and changes only rarely, then a Master List is probably the better bet. However, data that changes with every deal, matter, catalog, or client might suggest a GRID, if
- More than one piece of subsidiary or secondary data needs to be collected for each piece of primary data: If for each investor you need name, address, phone, amount, etc.; or for each part number in the catalog, color, size, price, etc. is useful, then a GRID is the way to go.
